Buried Deep (& Yet to Break the Surface)
A bit of rambling: This is all I have. I started a piece...more than started really...but I can't bring myself to finish it, let alone post it. And so this is all I can offer up at the moment in response to the Poetics prompt for this week over at dVerse Poets Pub. And maybe this is enough. I tweeted this approximately a year after starting my previous (and first) blog, ...don't open...don't throw away... after reflecting on the my first year actively posting my poetry (and other ramblings) on the blogosphere. In many ways, that year I stepped outside of myself. I would say that makes this a pertinent revelation in my poetic evolution.

i think sometimes it takes that walking outside ourselves to grow, you know...to walk beyond what we think we are capable of...or ...what we fear
That was a thought provoking interesting response. I have occasionally walked outside my self and I became a stranger to me:)
"walking outside myself": a good way to express many a writing experience. Well said.
our vision of ourselves is punctuated by such tiny change that it's hard to see, until that moment when we look back to a specific event in time and declare - I am someone new
I do like this and you are right about walking outside yourself, for if we stay within the confines, we shall never learn or grow. Perfect for poetics ~ smiles.
simple and sweet
you need to have an outer body experience to make growth happen... I think this is a great take, so thanks... :)
Walking outside or stretching oneself is a good step ~ Who knows what we will find, smiles ~
I like the idea of walking outside oneself. That is a good and necessary step on a writing journey. Everyone's journey is different, but the most important part of many journeys is that first step, that leap of faith. WHICH you have taken.
Nice idea of stepping outside oneself, allowing trust, risk, hope to take over the little ego.
Good thoughts.>KB
very interesting thought... indeed.. growing can be many things.. and not all things are for good...
I don't think this needs to be expanded. It works perfectly just as it is!
waking outside oneself..maybe just another form of growing you know...different angle of view...and everything changes
I think when you find the phrase that is self-defining for yourself, you have broken through. It doesn't matter if it makes sense to other because it helps you find the deeper stuff, sort wheat from chaff, carry on. I believe that this piece does that for you.
I think we're always moving forward even when we think we're standing still. Taking a step outside yourself...yeah...you're growing!
